HI, I'M ANNIKEN
I’m 30 years old, mom to Iris, from Norway, and have a Masters Degree in Plant Science/ Agronomy, who is passionate about changing the way we grow and eat food to improve our health (and the environment).
Unfortunately, most foods available in the "average" grocery store are not optimal our bodies, and even lacks critical basic nutrition that we need to survive (and let alone thrive)...
This issue starts with the way food is grown.
The way most food is grown today is gradually depleting the soil and is depending more and more on external inputs like pesticides and artificial fertilisers. These inputs are neither good for the soil NOR our bodies.
We are on a mission to do something about this! So, why agriris?
agriris is short for Agriculture and Iris, our 2 year old daughter, mascot and BIG why for eating better and developing products to help others do the same!
A few years back my husband (and co-founder) Eirik, struggled with his gut, allergies, headaches and burnout... AND I was struggling with inexplicable insomnia.
Eirik therefore went on a mission to find a permanent solution and researched things like Keto, Intermittent Fasting, Paleo, and in the end went through a full Functional Medicine program to restore his gut, autoimmune system and health.
SO WHAT DID WE LEARN?
